Platelet Rich Plasma Therapy (Skin)

What is PRP(Platelet rich plasma) therapy for skin rejuvenation?

Platelet Rich Plasma therapy (PRP) is a ground breaking non-surgical treatment option by naturally promoting long lasting results for facial and skin rejuvenation.

PRP therapy is a treatment which uses your own blood platelets to stimulate new cell growth, helping to improve your complexion, skin texture, scarring, facial rejuvenation, stretch marks ,cellulite and to restore lost facial volume.

This therapy presents patients with a long lasting, permanent solution through the body’s natural healing process. It is not something that wears off over time.

The first thing people notice is an improvement in skin turgor and elasticity.

PRP harnesses the beneficial functions of the patients own platelets and therefore there is no risk of allergy or rejection of the treatment.

How does it work?

Our blood is made up of 93% red blood cells, 6% white blood cells, 1% platelets and plasma.

Platelets are best known for their function of blood-clotting to stop bleeding. Platelets, however, are much more significant than this, as human platelets are also a critical component in healing and promoting new growth. Platelets are naturally extremely rich in the connective tissue growth and healing factors.

A little blood is drawn from the body, which is then treated in a centrifuge so that only the enriched cells or platelets (PRP) remain.

The PRP or highly concentrated Platelet Rich Plasma, including essential growth proteins, is infused into skin.

The goal of PRP is to maximize the number of platelets in a solution that is infused into the areas where the process of ageing has slowed down the ability of the body to promote re-growth like skin cells which need stimulation.

In summary, PRP creates, stimulates, and accelerates the body’s natural healing process.

Am I a good candidate?

Men & women, who are not on any anti-coagulant therapy & are in the early stages of appearance of dullness of skin, reduction in skin glow and loss of facial volume, can seek PRP therapy.

It is appropriate for individuals with mild to moderate signs of ageing, who are looking for a gradual improvement in their skin’s appearance and seek noticeable, natural looking results that last.
